"Bummulo Malandrino" Ceramic Sicilian Jug - Blue with Lemons and Orange Blossoms

Unveil the Magic of Sicilian Tradition with Every Pour

Step into the vibrant world of Sicilian culture with the bummulo malandrino, also lovingly known as 'bummulu malandrino' in Sicily. This exquisite ceramic piece, often referred to as the 'tricksy jug', is much more than a pitcher; it encapsulates the essence of Sicilian craftsmanship and pays homage to ancient traditions of serving wine and water.

The jug’s striking sky blue and yellow palette is a visual delight, perfect for enhancing your festive gatherings. Each pour is an experience, sparking curiosity and amazement. It's not just a functional item; it's a gateway to the rich Sicilian heritage.

Originating from the period of Muslim rule in Sicily (827 - 1091 CE), the bummulo malandrino is distinguished by its unique closed-top design and side spout. The magic begins with its filling process: invert it and fill through its base. Thanks to its expertly crafted internal cone, the liquid remains securely inside once the jug is set upright.

Each piece is handmade and hand-painted, making every jug a unique masterpiece with slight variations from images shown.
