Knitwear Care Guide

How to care for your San Rocco Italia knitwear
Time leaves its mark. Care keeps what you love feeling like new.
Our knitwear is made to be worn often and kept for years, with a little attention between seasons.

Before washing
De-pill gently
Pilling is a natural occurrence, especially with softer yarns. Use a sweater comb or a lint remover and work lightly, without pulling the fibres.
Air it out first
If your knit isn’t stained, a few hours of fresh air is often enough to refresh it. Less washing means a longer life.

Washing
For the best results, we recommend hand washing.
- Use a mild detergent (think: delicate, gentle, fragrance-light).
- Choose lukewarm water, never hot and never icy. A comfortable temperature protects the fibres.
- Soak and move softly. Do not scrub, stretch, or rub aggressively.
- Rinse 2 to 3 times, until the water runs completely clear and free of soap residue.
- Do not wring or twist the garment.

Drying
- Remove excess water with a towel: lay the knit flat on a clean towel, roll it up, and gently press.
- Dry flat on a horizontal surface, reshaping the garment to its natural form.
- Keep it away from direct heat and sunlight (radiators and strong sun can weaken fibres and alter shape).
Optional softness refresh:
If your knit contains cashmere or similarly soft fibres, you can place it slightly damp inside a pillowcase or laundry bag and use a no-heat tumble setting for 5 to 10 minutes. This is optional and only meant to help restore softness.

Storing (between seasons)
- Store only when fully clean and completely dry.
- Fold your knitwear rather than hanging it, to prevent stretching.
- Add a natural wardrobe protector, for example a bay leaf, to help keep your wardrobe fresh.
