The rich history of alpaca in Peru dates back to the Inca Empire, where it was a material reserved for royalty due to its exceptional quality. Alpaca is softer than cashmere and warmer and more durable than lamb’s wool. Its microscopic air pockets create lightweight garments with excellent insulation properties. This natural fiber is produced without harsh chemicals, ensuring a sustainable and eco-friendly process.
The alpacas roam freely in the Peruvian Andes and are sheared without harm. Their gentle grazing preserves the root system of their grazing areas. Alpaca produces up to 28 natural colors, which can be blended into a myriad of shades, from deep black to rich chestnut and pristine white. This fiber is easily dyed, maintaining its natural sheen regardless of the color.
